As we begin the month of October, I would like that we recognize how far we have come in relation to communication. Airmail was one of the pioneer communication methods that started so many years back. Even though better methods like mobile phones have almost superseded it, it still stands out in some situations. On this day in 1947,Los Angeles Airways opened the world's first regular airmail service by helicopter. In this pioneering service, Sikorsky S-51 machines were used to deliver the letters.
