We are used to Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV’s) that have been very common in wars around the world. They are also used in various aerial projects like scientific explorations and weather forecasting. I do not intend to dwell on UAV’s for today, but this is closely related to that. In 1918, on a day like today, the Kettering Bug pilotless airplane developed by Charles F. Kettering made its first successful unmanned flight test, albeit for only nine seconds. (F&F)
